Islay

The Bowmore distillery is located on the Scottish island of Islay. The distillery has ideal conditions because it is situated below sea level. This whiskey has matured in sherry and bourbon casks. Islay malts are famous for their peaty, smoky flavor and this Bowmore is no exception.

Glenfarclas, 12 Y

Speyside

Glenfarclas 12 was originally bottled for export and travel retail markets. In 2006, it was named the “Best Sherried Whisky” in the Single Malt World Cup, and in 2007 and 2008 it won Gold at the Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival. The nose gives a light and creamy mix of soft sherry and honey. Gentle and well-balanced with hints of rich oak, smoke and a little pine resin. Medium-bodied taste with toffee apple and a touch of smoke.The finish is spicy and long with notes of allspice, cinnamon and cloves, with sherry and orange zest.

Clynelish, 14 Y

Highlands

The balance of this whisky is sublime and the mouthfeel is perfectly rounded. A superb example of what Clynelish can produce, even at younger age. A great 14 year old Highland malt! The nose is smoky and zesty with mandarin and tangerine. The palate is of great clarity and quite light with orange and a soft acidity. Discover dry oak, mixed fruits, vanilla and leather. The finish is quite long with developing bitter sweetness and spicy oak.

Glenlivet, 12 Y

Speyside

One of the best selling malts in the world, well-worth re-discovering. The archetypal Speyside dram, honey and orchard fruit driven. The nose is sweet creamy vanilla, honey, pineapple, pressed apples and a little cinnamon. In the palate we distinguish apple cores, fresh and fruity trifle and creamy citrus. The finish is long and delicious with almonds and apple.

Benromach, 10 Y

Speyside

The newly released 10 year old from Gordon and MacPhail’s Benromach distillery. This was matured for the first nine years in 4/5 bourbon and 1/5 sherry casks before a year in sherry casks. The nose is dry pine, fruity with, after a while, sweet spices and a hint of prune from the sherry cask and maple fudge. The palate is slightly herbal, grassy with barley and a little fruit. The finish is a beautiful mix of bittersweet with ginger, dry sherry.

Laphroaig - Quarter Cask

Islay

Released in 2004, this bottling was aged for five years before being finished in a quarter cask for seven months. The size of the cask is quite small, so does not require such a long maturation. The nose is oily and buttery, with toffee and nuts, rum, raisin and ice cream. For the palate we describe a wide expression of chilli heat sweetness. The finish has a medium length that becomes smoky and fruity with custard.

Balvenie, 12 Y - Doublewood

Speyside

This whisky is aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in sherry casks. The nose is gristy with a supple grapy and nuttiness. The palate is sweet with good body. The bourbon characters develop to gentle spice with a little vanilla. The finish is dry and spicy.

Glenfiddich, 15 Y

Speyside

This 15 year old Glenfiddich malt whisky is matured to perfection in three different oak barrels. Sherry casks and traditional bourbon barrels and barrels of new oak. After that, the whiskey is transferred in a large wooden barrel of 32.000 liters, the so-called Solera barrel, that is always at least half full. This ensures a constant quality of the whiskey. The process ends with a short maturation period in smaller Solera barrels, so the whisky merges into perfectly balanced whisky, the so-called marriage.

Knockando, 12 Y

Speyside

It was because of the Knockando distillery that it began bottling their whiskies under the name anCnoc. The nose is quite gentle and very fragrant with notes of honey and hints of barley with, in the backgroud, a supple peat. The palate is full with notes of heather roots and damp earth, notes of honeyed sweetness with ginger, a touch of rum with malty peat. The finish is long with winter spice and crystallized ginger with cereal notes.

Edradour, 12 Y - Caledonia

Highlands

A special single cask release, selected by songwriter Douglas Maclean and named after his famous song, Caledonia. The cask was an Oloroso sherry cask, distilled in 1997. The nose is sweet and creamy with soft sherry and a hint of oak. Notes of honey and hints of fig and date. The palate is full and rich with notes of berry fruits, honey and butter, sherry, caramel and toasted almond. The finish is spicy, dry and sprinkled with cocoa.

Old Pulteney, 12 Y

Highlands

This Old Pulteney malt was a Double Gold winner at the 2006 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, matured in ex-bourbon casks for 12 years. The nose is crisp and clean with Great balance that reveals notes of herbs and grist, parsley and almond. The palate is balanced with medium body. Musty, nutty, raisins, toffee, spices and oak. The finish is a medium one with oak and spices.

Ledaig, 10 Y

Islands

A Gold Medal winner at the 2008 International Wine and Spirits Competition. A quite light and well-balanced nose. A very soft peat with a gentle smoke with notes of barley and malt with nuts, pine oil and dried fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and quite rich. There are notes of smoke and spice. The peat is dry with a touch of black pepper. The finish is of medium-length and slightly smoky with spice.

Amrut - Peated

India

Amrut Single Malt Whisky is made from Indian barley grown at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. After local Indian farmers harvest the barley, the grains are carefully dried over a peat flame. Then, the barley is mashed and distilled in small batches to preserve the natural aroma of the Indian terroir. Following distillation, the whisky is matured at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level in oak barrels that are laid to rest for a minimum of 4 years.

Nikka Black, 8 Y

Japan

A rare bottle of 8 year old blended malt from Nikka. A very creamy, fruity whisky with complexity. The nose is complex and big on the malt notes with hints of orange peels and nectarine, marshmallow and exotic spices. Cedar develops.The palate is cocoa, caramel lattes, malt, lychees, honey. The finish gives you Juicy fruits, citrus, lemon zest, apples and toffee.

Knappogue Castle, 12 Y

Ireland

Made exclusively from un-peated malted barley and aged in ex-bourbon casks for 12 years. Bright gold. The entry is flavorful with McIntosh apples and peaches combined with light honey and cereal grains. In addition to cereal grains, the midpalate has subtle milk chocolate, salted caramel, a touch of citrus, and some black pepper and oak spice. The finish is long and slightly dry with a light lager-like note to it.

Millstone, 5 Y

Netherlands

A pure potstill rye whisky from the innovative Dutch distillers Zuidam, that’s made in small batches and aged five years before bottling. A dark golden whisky, with a nose of a sweetness and fruit with hints of grain, honey, wood and vanilla. A taste of notes of wood, spices, honey and citrus. With a dry aftertaste of sweet fruit, honey, vanilla, wood and coconut in the background with something smoky.

Jack Daniels Single Barrel

Each bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is selected from a single barrel. Each barrel affects the whiskey slightly different. The number of the barrel and the date of botteling is shown on each bottle. Each bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select is selected by the master distiller himself. The result is a sturdy and robust whiskey with a strong taste of lightly toasted oak, sweet vanilla and caramel. The flavor has, thanks to the caramel and banana flavors, a sweet twist.

The distellery of Glenburgie was founded in 1810. This Whisky has a golden color with a nose of creamy dried fruits, honey and citrus. The taste gives you a hint of nuts and toffee, fruit, honey and herbs. The aftertaste has hints of oak with fruity sweetness cocoa and coffee tones.

Often considered one of the best introductory drams for newcomers to whisky, this superb malt from BenRiach offers a very approachable array of complex flavours. Notes of soft vanilla, honey and peaches intermingle with a gentle malty character and a complex background of chocolate, very subtle smoke and a lush, delicious creaminess. A perfect introduction to single malt whisky, but also full of high quality character that appeals to more serious appreciators.

Celebrates the brothers who first established the distillery and the 200 plus years of craftsmanship that goes into every bottle that bears the Manson name. A nose holds warm amber, sweet vanilla and subtle spice combined with fruitier green apple and grapefruits. The taste gives a butter cream and vanilla to fruity green apple and citrus, leading to an elegant and subtle finish.

G&M Highland Park, 8 Y

Islands

Bottled by Gordon and MacPhail. A creamy, slightly smoky dram.The nose is rich with notes of waxy honey, leather and zest. Hints of the coast with malty barley sweetness and floral honey. The palate is very woody and peppery with an intense creamy body of seaweed and smoke and notes of soft ripe fruits and rich wood. The finish is long and crisp with a tangy spice and gentle smoke.

Talisker - Storm

Islands

Assembled from both rejuvenated and refill casks at different ages to deliver a perfect balance of character and smoother woody richness. The nose is spicy, growing in complexity to reveal honey with red berry. The taste is at first sweetly mellow and rich in the mouth to become increasingly ‘stormy’ as the Talisker heat comes through. The finish is clean and of medium length, warming, with a lasting, smooth aftertaste.

Bunnahabhain - Toiteach

Islay

Toiteach is Gaelic for “Smoky”, a hint of what’s to come: a heavily peated Bunnahabhain. The nose gives a lovely gentle peat with hints of spicy warmth and complexity with some smoke and fruit. The taste is one of spiced heat that opens with sweet fruits, dates, sweet smoke, cracked black pepper. The finish is long and smokey.
